Aldershot 1st XI vs. Amersham II
Aldershot 236-1 Amersham 185 a/o
A resurgent Aldershot put recent disappointments aside this week to launch
a last-ditch promotion chase by emphatically defeating strugglers Amersham
this week. Batting first, Aldershot found life easy at the picturesque Shardeloes
ground and after losing Baig for 35, Craig Tilson and Cameron Bowditch came
together to pile on the runs. With Tilson (112*) compiled a third century
of the season and Bowditch scoring a fine 68 not out, Aldershot put themselves
in the driving seat, declaring at 236-1 after 48 overs. Amersham, while making
steady progree with Palmer's 57 never really looked in contention as Neil
Mumby returned figures of 5-73 to rip the heart out of the Amersham reply
as they were bowled out at 185. A maximum 25 points puts Aldershot right into
the promotion mix in the super-tight Division 3A.

Aldershot 2nd XI vs. Henley 3rd XI
Henley 184 a/o Aldershot 151-9
Aldershot 2nd XI meanwhile capitulated in a miserable losing draw that effectively
seals their relegation from Division 5A. Despite managing to restrict Henley
to 184 with some dogged bowling from Coomber and Green and wily spin from
Pippett, they knew the total would be difficult to chase on the slow, low
Aldershot surface. Indeed, Aldershot made hard work of their reply as none
of the top order ever really managed to get themselves in and wickets fell
at regular intervals. Despite, lower order efforts from Coomber and Holloway,
Aldershot were left severely behind the run rate and a draw with nine wickets
down was the eventual result, Aldershot picking up eight points, almost certainly
not enough to stave off a second relegation in two years.

Aldershot 3rd XI vs. Yateley 3rd XI
Yateley 240-5 Aldershot 141
Aldershot 3s did their promotion hunt no favours this week as they succumbed
to a disappointing defeat at the hands of Yateley. Batting first, Yateley
got off to a flying start and were shortly 80-0 before Andy Bossom reigned
the charge in somewhat. His determined attack returned him figures of 5-65
from 17 overs before a late onslaught of lusty hitting from Bosch (50*) enabled
Yateley to declare early on a daunting 240-5.
The Aldershot reply faltered as wickets fell at regularly intervals to a
combination of poor judgement and penetrative bowling with only Fraser (49)
able to make real progress. In spite of Aldershot's lengthy batting order,
a collapse insued and despite skipper Cranstone's last ditch efforts to secure
some vital bonus points, Aldershot were bowled out for 141 in the 43rd over
collecting a mere four bonus points in the course of the match. With one game
left, the 3s find themselves needing a big win next week if they are to realise
their promotion hopes.
